West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Hospitalized After Suffering Severe Head Injury

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been hospitalized after sustaining a serious head injury in an unfortunate accident.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) released images showing the extent of the injury, with Banerjee lying in a hospital bed with a deep cut on her forehead and visible blood.

The incident occurred at her Kalighat residence in south Kolkata, where Banerjee fell after returning from an event, leading to her hospitalization in the Woodburn Ward.

Family members revealed that the 69-year-old leader required stitches due to the fall inside her home.

The TMC, via a social media post, informed followers of the significant injury sustained by their chairperson, requesting prayers for her recovery.

Abhishek Banerjee, Mamata’s nephew and TMC national general secretary, facilitated her admission to the hospital following the accident.

Several political figures, including West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar, expressed wishes for Banerjee’s speedy recovery in the wake of the incident.

Formerly, Mamata Banerjee had voiced her opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act, emphasizing she would not allow its implementation in the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Banerjee, citing a lack of understanding between refugees and infiltrators and calling for her cooperation in supporting Bengali Hindus affected by the Act.
