Cincinnati Winter Storm Snow Covered Roads 2025

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The Winter Storm Warning for the Tri-State area ended overnight, but frigid temperatures and lingering snow continue to challenge travelers. Tuesday has been declared a First Alert Weather Day due to wind chill values in the single digits and potential travel delays, particularly during the morning commute.

Most main highways are clear, but secondary and residential streets remain snow-covered, especially in Cincinnati. A crash on southbound Interstate 75 in Butler County caused significant delays early Tuesday, though the incident has since been cleared. Multiple Ohio Department of Transportation trucks struggled overnight to clear snow piles near Hopple Street, where several SUVs remained stuck.

Wind gusts of up to 30 mph are expected to persist, causing blowing and drifting snow that could exacerbate road conditions. Temperatures are in the teens, with wind chill values making it feel like single digits. Meteorologist Catherine Bodak of FOX19 NOW warned that the cold snap will continue through the week, with highs in the mid-20s and lows in the single digits.

Most school districts and some businesses remain closed due to the hazardous conditions. The FOX19 NOW Weather Team is monitoring a potential clipper system that could bring additional snow showers Friday night into Saturday morning. While the system is expected to be minor, the cold temperatures could make the snow fluffier and more impactful.

Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to remain below normal, with morning lows in the single digits and afternoon highs in the teens and low 20s. The region will experience one of the coldest stretches of the winter season, with wind chills making it feel even colder. Residents are advised to exercise caution on the roads and prepare for continued cold weather.
