Winter Storm Pennsylvania New Jersey 2025

READING, Pa. – A significant winter storm is set to impact portions of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with heavy snowfall expected to create hazardous travel conditions starting Sunday morning. The National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Warnings and Freezing Fog Advisories for multiple counties, urging residents to prepare for potentially dangerous conditions.

The storm is expected to bring between 4 to 8 inches of snow across east central and southeast Pennsylvania, as well as northern and northwest New Jersey. The heaviest snowfall is predicted between Sunday morning and early Monday, with temperatures dropping into the teens Sunday night. This could lead to icy and slippery conditions persisting for several days.

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous,” the National Weather Service warned. “Travel could be very difficult.”

In addition to the snow, freezing fog advisories are in effect for Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks Counties in Pennsylvania until 4 a.m. Sunday. Visibility is expected to drop to half a mile or less, creating slippery conditions on roads and sidewalks.

Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and to prepare for potential emergencies. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle,” officials cautioned. Road conditions can be checked by calling 511.

The storm is expected to impact a wide area, including Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, and Schuylkill Counties in Pennsylvania, as well as Warren and Hunterdon Counties in New Jersey. Authorities are urging caution and preparedness as the storm approaches.
