Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Benton, Washington, Madison, and Carroll counties in Northwest Arkansas, as well as Delaware and Adair counties in Northeast Oklahoma. The advisory, in effect until midnight, warns of scattered snow showers and potential slick spots as temperatures drop below freezing.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will rapidly decline this afternoon, transitioning rain showers into snow showers. Precipitation is expected to end by 9 p.m., but gusty winds of 30-40 mph could reduce visibility on roadways. A dusting of snow is anticipated across the region, with isolated areas potentially accumulating up to 1 inch.
