Woman Injured In Fall From Blackpool Central Pier

A woman fell around 30 feet from Blackpool‘s Central Pier onto the beach on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene after reports of the incident around 4:30 PM.

Witnesses watched in shock as the woman, who is in her 50s, fell through a section of the pier. Despite the fall, her injuries have not been disclosed, and she remains in the hospital.

Due to the incident, Central Pier was evacuated, and the local council has shut it down voluntarily while an investigation takes place. Blackpool Council has confirmed they are working closely with the Health & Safety Executive.

A spokesperson for the council said, “On Tuesday afternoon, we were informed about the situation at Central Pier. An investigation is now underway, and we are collaborating with the Health and Safety Executive.”

The North West Ambulance Service dispatched multiple teams, including an advanced paramedic and a critical care paramedic team. They provided immediate medical assistance to the woman before transporting her to the hospital.

The coastguard also played a vital role, assisting in the evacuation of the pier and ensuring safety in the area. They reported being called out shortly after the incident and worked with various emergency services to secure the scene.

As inquiries continue, many locals are left wondering how such a serious accident could happen on a popular attraction like Central Pier.
