Wren Clair Kare 11 Meteorologist

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Wren Clair will return to the airwaves as a meteorologist at KARE 11, with her first day set for May 19. Clair’s return comes after a brief hiatus following her departure from KSTP TV in February, where she had worked for nearly seven years.

Doug Wieder, the president and general manager of KARE 11, expressed excitement about Clair joining the team. ‘Her expertise in weather forecasting and commitment to viewers aligns perfectly with our station’s mission,’ he said.

Clair became known to viewers during her time at KSTP, where she took over as the principal evening meteorologist after the retirement of Dave Dahl in 2020. She delivered her final forecast at KSTP in February, but the station did not disclose the reasons for her departure, according to KSTP news director Kirk Varner.

Clair, a native of Hopkins, Minnesota, joined KSTP in June 2018 and quickly became a favorite among viewers. She previously worked in weather reporting roles in Wisconsin and Boston and has experience covering extreme weather events, including historic flooding in January 2018.

In addition to her meteorology skills, Clair holds multiple degrees, including a master’s in environmental science and policy from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s in meteorology from Mississippi State University. She is also a member of the American Meteorological Society.

Beyond her on-air work, Clair is dedicated to teaching and community service. She has tutored students in math and science and volunteered at various organizations, including running a children’s dental outreach program. As she prepares for her return to television, it appears she is not currently active on social media.

Clair’s fans are eager to see her back in action on KARE 11, where she is expected to bring her forecasting talents back to Minnesota’s viewers.
