WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes to be Featured on Cover of WWE 2K24 Video Game

WWE superstar Cody Rhodes is set to make his mark on the gaming world as he graces the cover of WWE 2K24, the highly-anticipated upcoming video game. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Rhodes, who has become one of the prominent figures in WWE since his return to the company in 2022 after stints with AEW and other companies.

During his second run with WWE, Rhodes has achieved incredible success. He headlined WrestleMania 39, emerged victorious in the Royal Rumble, triumphed over Roman Reigns in a Hell in a Cell match, starred in a War Games match, and secured numerous victories against top competitors. When asked about his cover appearance, Rhodes expressed his excitement, stating that it fulfilled a long-standing desire to be featured on the cover of a WWE video game.

Sharing the spotlight on the deluxe edition cover of WWE 2K24 are exceptional female wrestlers, Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. This is the first time in history that a pair of women have been chosen for the cover of a WWE video game. Moreover, a special edition titled ‘Forty Years of WrestleMania’ will also be available, featuring popular wrestling icons such as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, and Hulk Hogan.

WWE 2K24 is scheduled for release worldwide on March 5th, with the standard and digital editions hitting the market on March 8th. The game offers new match types, including special guest referee, ambulance, casket, and gauntlet matches. Players can control over 200 WWE wrestlers and legends, enjoying improved animations, updated facial expressions for over 90% of characters, enhanced ramp and dive cameras, and the ability to manipulate the camera during live gameplay.

Among the playable characters in the game are legendary figures such as Batista, Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, Brock Lesnar, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and Chyna. Rhea Ripley expressed her gratitude towards Chyna, who she considers an inspiration, for breaking barriers and representing those who don’t conform to the norm.

As for Cody Rhodes, his sights are set on winning the undisputed WWE Universal title and potentially facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. However, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson‘s recent return to WWE introduces an intriguing twist, as he and Reigns are cousins, potentially creating an obstacle for Rhodes.
