Earlier, the Honolulu Examiner’s Office identified two other victims: Nelie Ibarra, 58, and Jennifer Van, 23. The identities of the third and fourth victims have not yet been released. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the explosion, which has drawn widespread attention and calls for stricter oversight of fireworks usage.
Residents of Aliamanu, a neighborhood in Honolulu, have expressed grief and frustration over the tragedy. “This is a heartbreaking loss for our community,” said a local resident who wished to remain anonymous. “We need to ensure something like this never happens again.”
Honolulu police and fire officials are urging the public to exercise caution with fireworks and to report any unsafe practices. The incident has prompted discussions about potential legislative changes to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
