57-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Fayette County Collision

PERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 57-year-old man has died following a head-on collision involving his motorcycle and a pickup truck early Tuesday morning on Route 51. The Fayette County coroner confirmed that Paul Corbett, a resident of Perryopolis, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 5:25 a.m.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred in the 3000 block of Pittsburgh Road when Corbett’s motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic. Witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle enter the southbound lane while heading north before colliding with the pickup truck.

Emergency responders arrived to find the charred remains of the truck against a guiderail. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of his injuries, but his current condition is not known.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing. Fayette County Coroner Dr. Bob Baker is handling the case as authorities gather more information about the incident.
