YouTube Reports Outage After Instagram and Facebook; Users Frustrated with Online Platforms
YouTube, a popular video streaming site, faced technical difficulties on Tuesday, coinciding with similar outages on Instagram and Facebook. Users reported errors while trying to access the YouTube homepage.
Downdetector.com, a website that tracks online service outages, documented a peak in complaints about YouTube downtime around 9 pm.
Meta Platforms, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, had earlier reported issues on its social media platforms, leading to frustration among users globally.
WhatsApp, another service owned by Meta Platforms, was also impacted by the outages, further adding to the disruptions across multiple online platforms.
As the outages occurred on what some users referred to as ‘Super Tuesday,’ others speculated if it was a practice run for the upcoming US Presidential Polls in November 2024.
X, a social media platform, became a center of attention as users discussed the technical glitches experienced across various online services, including emails and internet connectivity.
Meta Platforms’ spokesperson, Andy Stone, acknowledged the issues and assured users that the company was working to resolve the disruptions.
