Jack Doherty Car Crash

YouTuber and popular streamer Jack Doherty recently found himself under public scrutiny after a car accident during a livestream on the platform Kick. The incident took place on October 6th in Miami, Florida, as Doherty was driving in the rain and crashed his McLaren sports car into a railing. As a result of his actions during the livestream, Doherty has been permanently banned from Kick.

The Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. According to video footage circulating online, Doherty appeared to be using his phone while driving, a factor that may have contributed to his losing control of the vehicle.

During the crash, Doherty’s friend and cameraman, Michael David, who was in the passenger seat, sustained injuries. The footage showed David bleeding from his face, but instead of attending to his friend, Doherty urged him to continue filming. This reaction drew criticism from viewers, with many describing it as insensitive and inappropriate.

Adding to the controversy, Doherty later posted a shirtless picture on Instagram, standing next to the wreckage of his McLaren, which many followers criticized as “inappropriate.” In response to the backlash, Doherty took to TikTok, “begging” for donations and gifts from his fans. He promised to follow back anyone who contributed, prompting further negative reactions from the public.

One viewer commented, “Begging for money and then saying ‘you guys never drove a McLaren’ is crazy,” highlighting Doherty’s apparent lack of concern for his injured friend. Another user questioned why he still had a platform at all, given his behavior.

Jack Doherty’s older brother, Michael, defended him, asserting that he had not been using his phone at the time of the crash but “about a minute or two prior.” He blamed the accident on the notorious tendency of McLarens to spin out, stating, “He hydroplaned into the barrier and kind of overcorrected, which is someone’s first instinct.”

This incident is not Doherty’s first on-camera vehicle crash. Earlier this year, he flipped an off-road vehicle, and last year he crashed a golf cart. Doherty’s extravagant lifestyle and history of controversial pranks have garnered him a large following but also significant criticism at times.
