YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy Faces Legal Woes in Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Russian-American YouTube personality Vitaly Zdorovetskiy is currently incarcerated in a high-security facility in Muntinlupa as legal proceedings related to multiple charges against him continue. Previously held at the Bureau of Immigration detention center, Zdorovetskiy was transferred on June 11, 2025, and will remain there until all court cases in the Philippines are resolved.

Zdorovetskiy, known for his provocative prank videos, faces several charges, including unjust vexation, theft, and attempting to record individuals without consent. Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado noted that Zdorovetskiy’s transfer reflects the serious nature of these allegations. ‘This is not simply an administrative concern; it is a matter of upholding the integrity of our immigration system,’ he stated.

The influencer was arrested in April 2025 due to reports of disruptive behavior, including unauthorized filming and staged pranks that raised public safety concerns. Following his detention, Zdorovetskiy sought temporary release, claiming he wouldn’t flee while waiting for his deportation case resolution. However, his request was denied.

As he remains in custody, discussions continue online about his conduct. Critics argue that his disruptive antics damage local customs and public order. The Philippines has a firm stance on so-called ‘undesirable aliens’ and has urged that foreign nationals be held accountable for their actions.

Despite holding dual citizenship from both Russia and the United States, neither country has shown willingness to assist him with repatriation. Until his legal issues are resolved, Zdorovetskiy could face a lengthy time in a crowded facility. If convicted, he may serve up to 24 years in prison.
