Zambia Vs Chad Football

Zambian striker Kennedy Musonda has expressed confidence that the enthusiastic Chipolopolo fan base will be pivotal in their quest to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Speaking ahead of Zambia’s Group G fixture against Chad at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Musonda called on fans to turn out in large numbers, emphasizing the inspiration their support provides to the team.

“It’s a very important game,” Musonda stated. “I think fans underestimate how important they are, they underestimate the morale they give the team. For us, it can never be a bigger message to invite them to come out in their numbers because that will give the team a bigger boost.”

Currently, Zambia is ranked second in Group G. Their campaign began with a 2-0 loss to the Ivory Coast, but they rebounded with a 3-2 victory over Sierra Leone at their home ground on September 10. In contrast, Chad is yet to secure a win in the qualifiers, opening with a goalless draw against Sierra Leone followed by a 2-0 defeat to the Ivory Coast.

The Zambian squad will face challenges, including the absence of Leicester City striker Patson Daka due to an ankle injury suffered during a pre-season match in August. On a more positive note, Frankie Musonda is fit for selection, and newcomer Chipyoka Songa has received his first call-up to the team and might play a role in the upcoming matches.

As for Chad, the team appears robust with no significant injuries reported and is expected to field its strongest lineup. Both teams have encountered each other twice previously, with Zambia securing one victory and a draw in their past meetings.

The match is set to kick off at 3:00 PM Central African Time (GMT+2) at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Friday. As Zambia aims to consolidate their qualification hopes, Chad is in search of their first victory in this campaign, hoping to reverse their recent form.
