An advertising truck displaying anti-Muslim images and messages, registered under Rebel News Network, is under investigation by Toronto police after stirring controversy in the city.

The commercial plate attached to the truck, according to Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation database, is linked to Rebel News Network Ltd., owned by Ezra Levant. However, Levant clarified that the ad was created by a group named Canadians Opposed to the Occupation of our Streets and Campuses.

The truck’s digital screens showcased a series of questions and images insinuating a link between Muslim activities and strife-ridden countries like Yemen and Syria while emphasizing a ‘Canada under siege’ narrative.

The Toronto Police’s Hate Crime Unit has launched an investigation into the truck’s messaging, urging anyone with information or footage to come forward.

Rebel News defended the content, arguing that it depicted real events involving pro-Hamas activities in Toronto and accusing authorities of focusing on their ad rather than addressing these occurrences.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh expressed deep concern over the divisive rhetoric, highlighting a worrying trend of hate targeting individuals based on their religion and origin.

The National Council of Canadian Muslims condemned the truck’s messaging, labeling it as dangerous and calling for swift action to combat such displays of Islamophobia.
