Director David Leitch Negotiates Netflix Video Game Adaptation

Los Angeles, CA — Director David Leitch is in talks to helm Netflix’s adaptation of a popular video game franchise. Netflix has partnered with The Coalition, the Canadian company behind the game, to bring this project to life.
Leitch, known for his work on ‘Fall Guy’, is collaborating with writer Jon Spaihts, who is also adapting Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune‘ for Legendary. Leitch’s production company, 87North, will work alongside The Coalition on this feature film.
The video game is set on a planet facing societal collapse, where humanity is threatened by underground creatures called the Locust. The story follows Delta Squad, led by Marcus Fenix, who are humanity’s last hope.
Netflix entered the gaming arena in November 2022, aiming to first create a feature film and later expand into an adult animated series, should the initial project succeed.
Leitch, with a strong background in stunts, has built a diverse filmography, including ‘Bullet Train‘ and ‘Atomic Blonde‘. His upcoming project, ‘How to Rob a Bank‘, is a thriller for Amazon MGM featuring Nicholas Hoult and Anna Sawai.
The director, represented by CAA and Johnson Shapiro, is poised to continue making significant contributions to the film industry.
