Major Fires in Boulogne and Asnières Cause Evacuations and Injuries

Boulogne-Billancourt, France – On Thursday, May 22, a 15-story building and a senior care residence caught fire in the morning. The Paris fire brigade received an emergency call for a severe blaze at 10:20 AM on Rue du Vieux Pont de Sèvres.
Firefighters reported that the flames spread between the 11th and 12th floors of the building. “Currently, we have no information about the fire’s origin,” a brigade spokesperson explained.
Two residents were evacuated using emergency hoods via the stairs. They were taken to safety for medical attention. “By noon, the fire was extinguished, but teams will remain on site into the night to monitor the structure and check for potential flare-ups,” said the brigade. Reports indicate there may be one fatality.
Earlier, another fire broke out in Asnières, just north of Boulogne. This incident occurred on the fourth floor of a six-story residence. Firefighters conducted a rescue using a ladder. According to reports from Le Parisien, a retired individual suffered serious injuries, and their condition was still critical by the afternoon.
