Audio Ties Teen to Murder of InfoWars Writer in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas – FOX 7 has obtained audio of a teenager believed to be involved in the murder of InfoWars writer Jamie White in southeast Austin. The recording, first reported by Breanna Morello, features the teenager reacting to news of the crime and seemingly implicating himself.
Austin police have already arrested four teenagers related to the deadly shooting that occurred in March. It is unclear if the teen heard in the audio has been arrested or questioned, but authorities are investigating the content of the recording.
The recorded conversation took place between an unidentified woman and the unnamed teen. In the discussion, the teen mentions a firearm and the incident involving the reporter. “Yeah, you just acted like you did, shouldn’t have said that,” the woman tells the boy, suggesting he might have been present during the crime.
Eloy Camarillo, 17, is among those arrested for White’s murder. A police affidavit indicates that Camarillo informed officers that another suspect, Rodney Hill, was the shooter. Investigators believe the incident happened as White confronted the teenagers who were attempting to steal his car.
Detective Jason Jones of the Austin Police Department stated that the investigation revealed White was shot while trying to prevent a burglary of his vehicle. “This is a very big problem in Austin, and we are trying to do what we can, hold those individuals accountable,” he said.
Four suspects have been charged with capital murder, including Camarillo and Hill, both 17, and two unnamed 15-year-olds. Investigators also found a music recording on Hill’s phone referencing the murder, which included violent lyrics about shooting a “white boy.”
Witnesses reported that White was shot outside his apartment on March 9. After confronting the suspects, he attempted to stop them from stealing his car. White died in hospital the next day. His death has raised concerns about rising crime in the area.
“At this time, we do not believe that Jamie was targeted,” Detective Jones added. “Instead, we believe this is a very unfortunate and tragic series of senseless events.”
