Omaha Weather July Forecast

Omaha, Nebraska — Shower chances are expected to begin Wednesday morning across the Omaha area as families prepare for 4th of July celebrations.

Meteorologist Sean Everson from Omaha’s Weather Leader reports that residents will start the day in the mid-60s. Rain from the west may reach central Nebraska this morning, creating the possibility of light showers and the occasional rumble of thunder before noon.

Temperatures are set to climb into the low 90s in the afternoon, with a south breeze aiding the warming trend. While the morning may bring some overcast skies, the area should experience more sunshine as the day progresses.

Though most of the region will see brief rain before 8 a.m., eastern Nebraska will witness the most significant rainfall. Areas such as Seward, Utica, and York are expected to see heavier downpours, with scattered rain showers reaching Fremont, Wahoo, and Yutan.

On Thursday, temperatures will increase further, soaring into the 90s, with humidity contributing to a potential ‘feels-like’ temperature near 100 degrees. Friday will see a mix of clouds and sun along with breezy conditions, with the risk of scattered storms emerging in the afternoon.

As for the 4th of July, the forecast indicates a hot day with highs around 90, but the potential for evening storms may impact outdoor fireworks plans. Festivities will need to keep an eye on the ever-changing weather conditions as late afternoon rain becomes increasingly likely.

Following these holiday celebrations, the weekend forecast suggests continued warmth, with chances for scattered thunderstorms, particularly on Saturday evening into early next week.
