Cincinnati Open Offers Record Prize Money Ahead of US Open

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Cincinnati Open, the last major tournament before the US Open, will take place from August 7 to 18. This year, the American event has expanded to feature 96 players, offering a significant increase in prize money.
World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka are headlining the tournament, with Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff also expected to show strong performances in front of their home crowd.
The prize money for the WTA tournament has seen a notable increase as well, with the following payouts: $270 for the first round, $1,000 for the champion, and varying amounts for each round in between.
For the men, the grand prize totals $5 million this season. Here’s the breakdown: $23,760 for the first round, up to $1,124,380 for the champion.
Novak Djokovic, citing personal reasons, will not participate this year. Nine French players are set to compete in the men’s draw.
Looking forward, the US Open announces it will award the largest prize money in history in 2025, reaching a total of $90 million. The singles champions will each receive $5 million, a new record in the sport.
