Controversy Erupts Over Bonnie Blue Documentary Airing in the UK

London, UK — Adult film star Bonnie Blue‘s documentary, “1,000 Men and Me: The Bonnie Blue Story,” aired on Channel 4 on Tuesday, July 29, stirring significant controversy among viewers.
The documentary features the 26-year-old former OnlyFans star’s claim of having slept with 1,057 men in just 12 hours. Critics are questioning whether Blue’s content panders to male fantasies or represents an empowered, sex-positive approach to her profession.
Many viewers expressed their anger on social media, particularly on X. One commenter criticized the broadcaster for giving Blue airtime, saying, “So Bonnie Blue gets a documentary on Channel 4 where she can promote and glamorise her lifestyle for the kids watching at home but we need IDs to see posts on X because ‘we need to protect the kids.'” Another viewer echoed the sentiment, asking why Channel 4 would feature someone perceived as fueling misogyny.
The backlash continued, with one viewer claiming the documentary was harmful to young audiences by normalizing pornography. “No wonder advertisers are distancing themselves,” another noted.
Channel 4 addressed the public outcry in a statement, asserting that “the explicit content in the documentary is editorially justified and provides essential context.” They emphasized that the film discusses Bonnie’s profession seriously, maintaining that the documentary is presented in a non-gratuitous manner and features appropriate warnings for viewers.
Channel 4’s statement added, “The programme was broadcast after watershed and is compliant with the Ofcom broadcasting code,” referring to content regulations in the UK.
Bonnie Blue, whose real name is Tia Billinger, has faced criticism before. She was banned from OnlyFans in June after announcing a controversial stunt where she intended to sleep with 2,000 men while being tied naked in a glass box. After the ban, Blue spoke about the negative backlash from her plans, stating she wanted to continue similar events.
Following the airing of her documentary, Blue’s work continues to spark heated discussions regarding its impact and implications for future content creators.
