Ryan Flaherty Comedian Netflix

West Pittston, Pennsylvania — Comedian Ryan P. Flaherty will appear in a special episode of ‘Kill Tony’ on Netflix this Monday. The 33-year-old, originally from Wilkes-Barre, earned this opportunity by performing at Madison Square Garden on August 16.

Flaherty, who has been performing regionally for seven years while working in maintenance, saw this as a significant break in his career. He participated in a sold-out show at the iconic venue, hoping his name would be drawn for a one-minute comedic slot with the show’s celebrity panel.

“It’s a lot different from the 20 people we would usually see,” Flaherty shared. His performance earned him a coveted ‘big joke book,’ a token of approval from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe and guests. The upcoming episode of ‘Kill Tony’ features various well-known comedians, and it boasts a sizable following on YouTube.

Despite the excitement, Flaherty admitted to feeling nervous onstage. “It was incredible. It was very, very rewarding to hear that many people respond to your jokes after you have worked so hard on them for years. It was great,” he said.

Flaherty’s comedy style is characterized as silly and absurd, often incorporating tiny props and anecdotes related to his experiences as a father. Following his Netflix appearance, he plans to perform at the Scranton Fringe Festival from September 25 to October 5 and at the NEPA Comedy Fest in Stroudsburg from October 3 to 5.
