Silent Hill F Video Game Review

Tokyo, Japan – Just one week before its release, Silent Hill F has received a positive review from the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, earning a score of 36 out of 40. This score is the highest ever awarded by the publication to a Silent Hill title.

The four reviewers from Famitsu each rated the game a 9 out of 10, praising its “visual beauty” and “surprisingly exhilarating” combat. For perspective, the original Silent Hill and its sequel, Silent Hill 2, received scores of 34 out of 40, while last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake earned 35 out of 40.

Although the game has garnered high praise, the review also noted some drawbacks, particularly regarding confusing controls and occasional terrain issues that may impede gameplay. The average playtime is estimated to be around 12 to 13 hours.

Silent Hill F is being developed by Neobards Entertainment in collaboration with Konami. Set in 1960s Japan, the narrative follows Hinako Shimizu, who finds her quiet hometown of Ebisugaoka swallowed by fog, turning it into a nightmarish landscape. The story is penned by the acclaimed Ryukishi07, known for his work on Higurashi When They Cry, and the soundtrack will feature music from longtime series composer Akira Yamaoka.

The game is set to launch on September 25, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Buyers of the Deluxe Edition will receive early access, two days before the standard release date. With its high initial praise, Silent Hill F is anticipated to be a standout entry in the franchise, but only time will tell if it meets fan expectations once it releases globally.
