Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Greater Cincinnati Expiring Soon

CINCINNATI, Ohio — A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Greater Cincinnati this Sunday afternoon, with the warning set to expire at 3 p.m. Areas including Clermont, Brown, Warren, and Clinton counties are under this alert, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather conditions started the day dry but shifted as rain moved in during the afternoon, resulting in delays for the Cincinnati Reds‘ game, pushing the start time to after 2:30 p.m. Although the rain may not last long, forecasts indicate chances for rain and thunderstorms each day through Thursday.
At 2:13 p.m., the National Weather Service reported severe thunderstorms located over Milford, moving northeast at 25 mph. Wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph, with the potential for pea-sized hail and damage to trees and power lines.
Weather experts warn that strong storms may develop, particularly this afternoon into early evening. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region under a marginal risk for severe weather.
Temperatures are expected to peak near 89 degrees today, with scattered rain anticipated mainly after 3 p.m. and lasting into the early evening hours. Tomorrow, similar weather is forecasted, including widespread thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon.
In the weeks ahead, rainfall totals could reach two inches, providing much-needed relief from the dry spell the region has faced lately.
