Over 1,200 Bakersfield Customers Lose Power During Repairs

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — More than 1,200 customers in central and northwest Bakersfield and Oildale lost power Sunday afternoon due to an electrical issue.

The outage affected 1,219 customers, primarily in the neighborhoods from Rosedale Highway to El Tejon Avenue. Areas near Highway 99 and Airport Drive were significantly impacted.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) reported the situation on their outage page. A team was dispatched to evaluate the electrical system and locate the damaged sections contributing to the outage. Following repairs, power was restored around 4:45 p.m.

Residents experienced inconveniences during the outage, but PG&E’s rapid response minimized the disruption. The exact cause of the outage has not been disclosed.
