Magic The Gathering Card Releases 2026

REDMOND, Wash. — Wizards of the Coast announced a series of highly anticipated releases for Magic: The Gathering in 2026, featuring collaborations with popular franchises such as The Hobbit and Star Trek.

The company’s preview panel disclosed six of the seven upcoming sets slated for the next year, alongside a revamped Spotlight Series set to engage both competitive players and casual fans.

Fans can look forward to the return of familiar characters and themes, starting with Lorwyn Eclipsed in January, which depicts the world torn between day and night. Following that, Secrets of Strixhaven is set to come out in April, focusing on life after graduation from the magical school.

In July, the spotlight shifts to the Marvel universe with Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, showcasing iconic heroes and villains such as Captain America and Thanos. A collaboration with J.R.R. Tolkien‘s universe, Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit, will be released in August, allowing players to join Bilbo Baggins on an epic adventure.

The 2026 schedule also features the climactic set Reality Fracture, which promises to introduce a new villain and innovative game mechanics, along with the unique crossover with Star Trek expected in October.

The Magic Spotlight Series will roll out events surrounding these releases, offering players the chance to compete for sizable cash prizes and invitations to Pro Tours. Notably, each Magic Spotlight event (excluding Team Limited events) will feature a $50,000 prize pool.

Wizards also invites fans to engage with their content through social media and live events, ensuring that players can enjoy all aspects of the Magic experience next year.
