Jonas Brothers Reschedule Phoenix Concert Due to Mercury Playoff Game

PHOENIX, Arizona — The Jonas Brothers have postponed their Phoenix concert from Sunday to Monday due to a scheduling conflict with the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury playoff game. This decision comes after the Mercury secured an overtime victory against the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday, forcing a pivotal Game 4 in their semifinal series.
Originally scheduled for Sunday, September 28, the concert will now take place on Monday, September 29, at 7:30 p.m. at PHX Arena. The Mercury’s Game 3 is set for Friday at 6:30 p.m., with Game 4 on Sunday at 5 p.m.
Concert organizers confirmed that previously purchased tickets for the Sunday show will be valid for the new date. Fans who cannot attend are advised to request refunds from their points of purchase by Monday at 7:30 p.m.
The Jonas Brothers expressed understanding of the situation, posting a congratulatory message to the Mercury on social media. Meanwhile, fans of both the concert and the team have expressed mixed reactions online, with some upset over the change and others embracing the growth of women’s basketball.
The Mercury have faced similar scheduling conflicts before. In 2021, prior concerts resulted in home playoff games being relocated. However, the recent resurgence of interest in the WNBA, evidenced by record viewership numbers, suggests that the league is becoming a priority within the entertainment sphere.
This year’s playoff season has seen the Mercury thrive, finishing the regular season with a solid 27-17 record and advancing through the playoffs as the fourth seed. Fans are hopeful as star players like Alyssa Thomas and Satou Sabally lead the team.
The league’s popularity continues to escalate, with recent data showing a marked increase in attendance and viewership. The Mercury’s playoff run not only highlights their talent but also symbolizes the growing recognition and respect for women’s sports in general.
Game 3 is set for Friday night at PHX Arena, with fans optimistic about a win that could propel the Mercury toward the finals.
