2025 China Open Set to Begin in Beijing with Grand Prize Money

BEIJING, China – The highly anticipated 2025 China Open begins today, running from September 25 to October 1 at the National Tennis Center. This year’s tournament boasts a total prize purse of $4 million, with the singles champion walking away with $751,075.
The event features both ATP and WTA competitions, making it significant for male and female tennis players alike. The women’s tournament has a higher prestige as it awards 1,000 ranking points, while the men’s tournament offers 500 points. As such, the prize structure is unequal, with the women’s singles winner set to earn $1,124,380.
Top male players, including Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, and Daniil Medvedev, are among the competitors this week. The tournament will also showcase women’s stars such as Iga Swiatek and defending champion Coco Gauff.
Matches for the singles competition begin today, with qualifying rounds held on September 23 and 24. The ATP singles final will take place on October 1, followed by the doubles final shortly after.
Data from previous tournaments shows that the China Open continues its tradition of drawing some of the world’s best players. Novak Djokovic holds the record for the most titles in singles, while Bob and Mike Bryan have the most in doubles. The tournament was first established in 1993 and has been increasingly recognized as a vital part of the tennis calendar.
