Aaron Judge Yankees Orioles Game

BRONX, New York – The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles 6-1 on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, to maintain a share of the American League East lead as the regular season nears its conclusion. The Yankees, now at 93-68, have triumphed in seven straight games and won 10 of their last 11.

The win secured New York at least a wild card spot in the playoffs. The Yankees are tied with the Toronto Blue Jays, who hold the tiebreaker advantage. In Saturday’s game, Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler struck out a career-high nine batters over seven scoreless innings, allowing only two hits. The 24-year-old right-hander boasts a 2.96 ERA throughout his 14 starts.

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge put New York on the board with his 53rd home run of the season, marking the Yankees’ 49th first-inning home run of the year. This feat set a new franchise record, surpassing the previous mark held by the Atlanta Braves in 2023. Giancarlo Stanton hit a home run in the second inning, solidifying New York’s lead at 3-0.

Stanton’s 453 career home runs moved him past Carl Yastrzemski into 40th place all-time. Notably, Judge and Stanton have homered together in the same game 59 times, with the Yankees emerging victorious in 52 of those instances.

Tomoyuki Sugano, starting for the Orioles, had a challenging outing, allowing six runs as he pitched 5 2/3 innings. After taking a pitch to his left arm in the fifth inning, he left the game but X-rays returned negative and further tests are scheduled.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected for the seventh time this season, after arguing a called strike against Judge, marking the 46th ejection of his managing career. Following the win, the Yankees improved to a 26-25 record against AL East teams.

The two teams are set to face off again on Sunday, Sept. 28, with Luis Gil starting for the Yankees against Kyle Bradish of the Orioles. The regular season finale will begin at 3:05 p.m. ET.
