NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Residents of Middle Tennessee should prepare for wet conditions today, as showers are expected throughout the morning and into the afternoon. The rain will generally be light but will be accompanied by persistent cloud cover.

High temperatures today will reach the upper 70s to low 80s. As the day progresses, more widespread rain is predicted to develop late tonight and into tomorrow. Right now, areas across the Midstate may see anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of rain, with some isolated spots potentially receiving up to 3 inches.

This morning, areas can expect a few showers with cloudy skies and temperatures near 70 degrees. As we move into the afternoon, hit and miss showers will continue, keeping the skies mostly cloudy. This evening, just a stray shower is likely to remain.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, scattered showers and some thunderstorms are projected for the morning, with temperatures expected in the 60s. Afternoon highs should reach around 80 degrees, with additional scattered showers and storms extending into the evening hours.

The forecast for the rest of the week indicates that Wednesday may begin with lingering showers, but most of the area is expected to dry out by the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 70s with lows dropping to the 50s. Sunshine is anticipated to return by Thursday and Friday, with temperatures ranging from the low to upper 70s.

This weekend looks to be slightly warmer, with temperatures climbing into the low 80s, accompanied by ample sunshine. Overnight conditions will remain cool, falling into the 50s as we welcome a new week.
