SHREVEPORT, La. — The Grambling State University Tigers are looking to bounce back after a tough loss as they face Texas Southern on Saturday, October 11, for homecoming. The Tigers, who are 3-2 this season, are coming off their bye week feeling well-rested.

The 2025 season for the Tigers has been a mix of highs and lows. They began with a dominant 55-7 victory over Langston University but faced a harsh setback, losing 70-0 against Ohio State, the number one team in the country.

Since returning to FCS play, the Tigers have had a better showing with a 2-1 record. They achieved thrilling comebacks against both Kentucky State and East Texas A&M, overcoming 14-point deficits in both games. Head Coach Mickey Joseph highlighted the team’s resilience, stating, ‘We got the grit. We’re going to fight for 60 minutes.’

In their last game against Prairie View A&M, the Tigers struggled, managing only five conversions out of seventeen on third downs and committing four turnovers. Quarterback C’zavian Teasett had a rough outing, throwing three interceptions and completing just 49% of his passes.

Despite the loss, Joseph remains optimistic and focused on improvement, stating, ‘One game don’t determine your season. You gotta move on.’

With the bye week behind them, the Tigers worked on addressing their weaknesses and are ready to take on Texas Southern. This matchup is crucial as they aim for their first SWAC victory of the season.

The excitement builds as Grambling prepares for homecoming and the opportunity to make their mark in the conference.
