Dodgers Brewers Nlcs Game 2 Highlights

MILWAUKEE — The Los Angeles Dodgers showcased their pitching prowess in a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night, taking a commanding lead in the National League Championship Series (NLCS).

Yoshinobu Yamamoto led the charge with a complete-game performance, allowing just one earned run and striking out seven batters over nine innings. This win came just a day after Blake Snell‘s impressive outing, where he faced the minimum 24 batters and struck out 10 in eight innings.

“Last year was a miracle,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said, reflecting on the team’s struggles during their previous playoff run. This year, the Dodgers have seven viable starting pitchers, putting them in a strong position as they defend their World Series title.

The Dodgers invested heavily in their pitching staff, with a combined $507 million spent on aces Yamamoto and Snell, and they are reaping the benefits. Yamamoto, who signed a historic $325 million contract before the 2024 season, boasts a remarkable 1.83 ERA in the postseason.

The series shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday, where Tyler Glasnow will take the mound for the Dodgers while the Brewers are expected to counter with ace Jacob Misiorowski.

The Brewers initially took the lead with a leadoff homer from Jackson Chourio, marking the team’s first score of the series.

However, the Dodgers quickly answered. Teoscar Hernández hit a solo homer in the second inning, followed by an RBI double from Andy Pages, giving Los Angeles a 2-0 advantage.

Max Muncy added to the lead with a solo shot in the sixth, bringing the score to 3-1. Despite a strong outing, Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta allowed three earned runs before exiting in the sixth inning.

Shohei Ohtani, who had struggled earlier in the postseason, contributed with an RBI single, and Tommy Edman‘s RBI single in the eighth sealed the game for the Dodgers.

With their rested bullpen and strong starting lineup, the Dodgers look poised to continue their success as the series progresses.
