Green Bay Packers Vs Pittsburgh Steelers

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers announced their inactive players ahead of Sunday Night Football, revealing key roster updates just before kickoff on October 29, 2023.

The Packers confirmed that wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, defensive end Lukas Van Ness, and defensive tackle Warren Brinson would be inactive due to injuries. Wicks is sidelined with a calf injury, Van Ness has a foot injury, and Brinson is out due to a hamstring injury.

In contrast, the Packers receive a significant boost, as three critical players return to the lineup: receiver Christian Watson, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt, and kicker Brandon McManus. Watson is slated to play in his first game since recovering from an ACL tear, while Wyatt has missed the last two games due to a knee injury. McManus returns after a right quad injury kept him out for two games.

Both Watson and rookie receiver Matthew Golden, who was also on the final injury report due to a hip injury, are expected to see playing time. Head coach Matt LaFleur expressed optimism about Watson’s impact. “He’s a rare breed…it just gives us so much flexibility as an offense,” LaFleur said.

The Packers had 16 players on their injury report earlier in the week, but running back Josh Jacobs, right tackle Zach Tom, safety Xavier McKinney, and others were cleared to play. Linebacker Quay Walker and safety Evan Williams will be in uniform against the Steelers.

For the Steelers, receiver Scotty Miller (finger) and offensive lineman Andrus Peat join the inactive list, while center Zach Frazier is active despite being listed as questionable due to a calf injury.

This game marks a pivotal moment for the Packers as they aim to manage their roster effectively while facing the Steelers, known for their sturdy defense components.
