Three Teens Killed in Halloween Crash in Warrington, Pa.
WARRINGTON, Pa. — A tragic crash left three teenagers dead and one critically injured on Halloween night in Warrington Township. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, in the 2600 block of Bristol Road.
According to police, a Toyota Camry carrying four teens was traveling east when the driver, identified as 15-year-old Elkhan Saparbekov, lost control of the vehicle. The Camry collided with a westbound Ford Explorer.
Friends and family have identified the fatalities as 16-year-old Kozyrev Artem, 15-year-old Elkhan Saparbekov, and 18-year-old Aziz Amonov. The Bucks County Coroner’s Office confirmed that autopsies revealed both Artem and Amonov died from blunt force trauma, with the deaths ruled accidental.
A fourth teenager, a 14-year-old boy, survived the crash but is in critical condition at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He underwent two surgeries and is expected to survive, according to family members.
Warrington Township Police Chief Daniel Friel stated that Saparbekov was likely unlicensed, as Pennsylvania law requires drivers to be at least 16 and a half to obtain a junior driver’s license. “Very tragic. Very heartbreaking,” Friel said. He added it was one of the most serious crashes he has encountered in his 25 years of service.
In the aftermath of the incident, memorials have been held for the victims. A vigil for Saparbekov took place on Sunday night in Northeast Philadelphia. “It was kind of unexpected for me to say the least,” said Umar Urkumbaev, a friend of the victims. He witnessed the families’ grief firsthand.
Two of the deceased teens had attended Neshaminy High School. Counseling services have been made available for students affected by the incident, with the school hosting an open house for support on Sunday, Nov. 2.
The community is devastated by the loss. Local resident Cathy Honigman expressed her shock, saying, “It’s hard to believe, I can’t imagine how it happened.” Monira Parkinson-Cole, another resident, remarked on the difficult navigation of Bristol Road, particularly at night, emphasizing the need for better safety measures.
Bucks County District Attorney Jen Schorn also expressed her sorrow, stating, “My heart and prayers go out to the families of the three deceased, and I’m praying that the youngest of the individuals pulls through.”
Police continue to investigate the crash and have called on anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
