Fluminense Mirassol Football Match

Rio de Janeiro, BrazilFluminense takes on Mirassol tonight at 7:30 p.m. (Brasilia time) at the Maracanã Stadium, in a critical match for both teams in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.

Fluminense currently sits in seventh place with 47 points after previously battling Ceará and suffering a 2-0 defeat. The team is eager to rebound and secure a spot in the next edition of the Conmebol Libertadores.

In contrast, Mirassol is in high spirits, holding the fourth position with 56 points. Their last game ended in a 0-0 draw against Botafogo, marking a remarkable five-game unbeaten streak with four wins and one draw.

Fluminense coach Luis Zubeldia received good news as he welcomes back key players including defender Thiago Silva, right-back Samuel Xavier, and midfielder Lucho Acosta. These players were absent in the last match against Ceará due to workload management and suspensions.

During training at the CT Carlos Castilho, Keno also practiced as a starter, although Zubeldia will finalize the lineup on the match day. The expected lineup includes goalkeeper Fábio, with a defensive line of Samuel Xavier, Thiago Silva, Freytes, and Renê. The midfield features Martinelli, Hércules, and Lucho Acosta, while the attack might see either Serna or Keno leading alongside Canobbio and John Kennedy.

On the Mirassol side, coach Rafael Guanaes rejoices in the return of top scorer Reinaldo, who missed the previous match due to suspension. Along with him, right-back Lucas Ramon returns from injury but may be positioned on the bench to start. The only confirmed absentee is striker Edson Carioca, who is expected back in 2026 due to injury.

The anticipated Mirassol lineup consists of goalkeeper Walter; defenders Daniel Borges, João Victor, Jemmes, and Reinaldo; midfielders Neto Moura, Danielzinho, and Guilherme Marques; and forwards Negueba, Alesson, and Chico da Costa.

This matchup marks a pivotal moment for both teams, as the winner could strengthen their positions and climb closer to their goals for the season.
