Los Angeles, CA — Paul Rodgers, the legendary frontman of Bad Company, announced that he will not perform at the band’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on November 8 due to health concerns. The 75-year-old singer revealed his decision in a statement shared on social media on November 3.

In the message, Rodgers expressed his disappointment, saying, ‘My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health.’ He mentioned that although he is capable of singing, the stress surrounding the event is too much to handle. ‘I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding,’ he added.

Rodgers has not disclosed the specifics of his health issues but has a history of serious health problems, including 11 minor strokes and two major strokes over the past decade. He has not performed with Bad Company since 2019.

Rodgers’s bandmate and drummer Simon Kirke initially indicated that the duo would perform together. Kirke stated earlier, ‘I think the secret is out that we will perform,’ but now confirms he will play alongside other musicians in Rodgers’s absence. ‘Whatever Paul chooses is fine by me,’ Kirke added.

Founded in 1973, Bad Company is celebrated for classic rock anthems such as ‘Feel Like Makin’ Love,’ ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy,’ and ‘Can’t Get Enough.’ The band achieved significant success throughout the 1970s, earning numerous accolades and selling about 40 million albums worldwide. The original lineup of the band has diminished over the years, with Rodgers and Kirke being the last remaining members.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on November 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, and will be streamed live on Disney+. Other inductees this year include artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, and Outkast.
