Peighton Tubre Denies Affair Rumors with LSU Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier
BATON ROUGE, La. — Peighton Tubre, a Louisiana-based football influencer, has denied rumors claiming she is having an affair with LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. The rumors were fueled by a fake article circulated on Facebook suggesting they were seen entering a hotel room together before one of his games.
In a video posted on November 5 to her more than 200,000 followers, Tubre addressed the situation. “I’d like to address some of the fake news that has been circulating about me on the internet,” she said. “I was hoping it was going to go away and no one would see it. Spoiler alert, everyone saw it.”
Tubre, 26, noted that when she first spotted the Facebook post, it had only 30 likes, which led her to believe it wouldn’t gain traction. However, she quickly received numerous messages and even had family members contacted about the false claims.
“Unfortunately, things escalated further when someone sent me another article claiming Garrett sent me unsolicited photos,” she continued. “I posted the screenshots on social media, which, if you follow me, you know I didn’t post anything like that. It is all fake.”
The rumors emerged months after Nussmeier, 23, proposed to his childhood sweetheart, Ella Springfield, in July. Following a successful 2024 season, where he recorded 4,052 passing yards and 29 touchdowns, Nussmeier returned to LSU for another year, expressing his desire to win a national championship.
Louisiana State is currently having a challenging season with a record of 5–3. They will face off against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. Tubre called out the fanpage that posted the affair rumors for poor timing, remarking, “They claim to be an LSU fanpage, but posting THIS during Bama week is opp behavior.”
Fans of Tubre have rallied to support her, with many praising her for openly addressing the rumors. “Speak your truth. We always got your back,” commented one follower. Another remarked, “Haters gonna hate and trolls gonna troll. Rise above,” while a third noted the prevalence of AI-generated stories misleading fans.
As of now, Nussmeier has not publicly commented on the rumors involving Tubre.
