Weekend Events in Baltimore: From Comedy to Culture
Baltimore, MD — As the weekend approaches, Baltimore is filled with exciting events for residents and visitors alike. From comedic performances to cultural discussions, there are plenty of opportunities to engage and enjoy.
Comedian Jim Gaffigan will take the stage at the Lyric Theatre for his “Everything is Wonderful” tour, running for three nights. This show coincides with the release of his Hulu special, “The Skinny,” set to premiere on November 22. Gaffigan’s performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 8 p.m. on Saturday. The Lyric Theatre is located at 140 W. Mount Royal Ave., and the event welcomes attendees of all ages.
Parents can also take their children to see the puppet theater duo performing “Milo the Magnificent” at the Baltimore Theatre Project. Shows are set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, with additional performances at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The theatre, found at 45 W. Preston St., offers a pay-what-you-can option on Thursday, making it an affordable outing for families.
On Saturday night, Nevermore Hall will host the indie-rock band Crane Wives, who explore themes of life and personal challenges. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and allows attendees of all ages.
For culture enthusiasts, Maryland Public Television presents a preview of renowned documentarian Ken Burns’ latest film, “The American Revolution,” accompanied by a panel discussion with University of Maryland professor Richard Bell. This informative event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Maryland Center for History and Culture, located at 610 Park Ave., and is open to all ages.
Additionally, the National Federation of the Blind will hold a market featuring local small businesses, helping to raise funds for education and advocacy efforts. This event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the NFB Jernigan Institute on 200 E. Wells St. and is free to attend.
In the art scene, Nora Howell’s latest exhibit will open at Gallery CA, showcasing mixed-medium works that aim to “make the invisible visible.” This free event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at 440 E. Oliver St.
