Bad Bunny Dominates 2025 Latin Grammys with Multiple Wins
Las Vegas, NV — The 2025 Latin Grammy Awards took place on November 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, where Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny took center stage by winning multiple awards, including Album of the Year.
Bad Bunny, who led the night with 12 nominations, celebrated his win for the album ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos.’ In an emotional acceptance speech, he dedicated his award to the youth of Latin America, particularly those from Puerto Rico. “Don’t forget where you come from, don’t stop being yourselves,” he said.
Another standout was Edgar Barrera, who clinched three awards, including Song of the Year for his collaboration with Karol G on ‘Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.’ Holding his trophies close, Barrera reflected on his journey from serving coffee in a studio to achieving his dreams. “Now, almost 13 years later, this is the first time I’ve won Song of the Year,” he stated.
The duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso also made headlines, snatching five awards, and lighting up the media center with their playful antics and a surprise kiss. When asked if they see themselves as role models, Amoroso humorously dismissed the idea.
Alejandro Sanz earned his eighth Record of the Year award, further solidifying his position in Latin Grammy history. He acknowledged the impact of other nominees, saying, “Benito, te he robado, perdóname,” addressing Bad Bunny. This recognition drew mixed reactions as viewers continue to push for more diverse winners.
Los Tigres del Norte performed their latest immigrant anthem, ‘La Lotería,’ highlighting social issues faced by the Latino community. Backstage, member Luis Hernandez stated, “‘La Lotería’ speaks to the social problems we experience in our countries of origin.”
Karol G also took home an award for Song of the Year, thanking her supporters and urging aspiring artists to pursue their passions despite insecurities. “Forget about the world, forget about the noise,” she advised during her emotional speech.
The ceremony celebrated various musical talents, including performances by Morat, Kacey Musgraves, and Raphael, who was named the 2025 Person of the Year. The event not only recognized established artists but also highlighted emerging talents like Paloma Morphy, who won New Artist. Exhibiting confidence and creativity, Morphy thanked the audience and expressed excitement for her future endeavors.
Overall, the 2025 Latin Grammys demonstrated the richness and diversity of Latin music, with artists using their platforms to advocate for social issues while celebrating their cultural heritage.
