Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has reportedly accused the Personal Assistant (PA) to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of assaulting her at the CM’s official residence, according to sources.

Responding to the alleged incident, Maliwal has sought police intervention and approached the Delhi Police for investigation into the matter, as per sources.

“One PCR call at 9:34 AM has been received at PS Civil Lines from a lady saying she (Swati Maliwal) has been assaulted at CM House. After some time, MP Madam came to PS Civil Lines, however, she left stating she will give a complaint later,” stated the police.

Furthermore, it was reported that Maliwal placed two PCR calls following the verbal altercation, which took place around 10 am, to seek assistance on the matter.

Subsequently, a team from the Civil Lines police station went to the Chief Minister’s official residence to investigate the allegations made by Maliwal.

As of now, neither the Chief Minister’s office nor the Aam Aadmi Party has issued an immediate response to the incident.

Maliwal, the former head of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), had previously criticized the Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) for terminating the contract of DCW’s employees.

The Lieutenant Governor’s office had retaliated against Maliwal’s comments, accusing her of indulging in “mudslinging” to mask her own misconduct.

Interestingly, Maliwal’s absence from the AAP‘s list of 40 star campaigners submitted to the Election Commission in April raised eyebrows.

However, Maliwal was seen campaigning on April 26 alongside Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel for the party’s Lok Sabha candidate from East Delhi, Kuldeep Kumar, conducting a door-to-door padyatra in the Vivek Vihar area of the Shahdara assembly constituency.

Explaining her absence from campaigning earlier, Maliwal had indicated that she had been in the USA due to a family emergency and would now be actively engaging with female voters to encourage them to exercise their voting rights.
