ABC News to Provide Comprehensive Coverage of 2024 Presidential Election Results
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, ABC News is gearing up to provide extensive and comprehensive coverage of the election results. On Election Day, voters will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of the race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
ABC News will broadcast and publish election results as they come in, offering live coverage on the ABC television network, the 24/7 streaming channel ABC News Live, as well as on Disney+ and Hulu. Viewers can also stream the coverage through the ABC News app for smartphones and connected TV devices, and on ABCNews.com.
The coverage will begin at 8 a.m. ET on ABC News Live, with additional network coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET when polls close in several states. This coverage will continue through the evening and into early Wednesday morning. “World News Tonight” anchor and managing editor David Muir will lead the coverage, joined by a team of experienced journalists including Linsey Davis, Martha Raddatz, Jonathan Karl, Mary Bruce, Rachel Scott, Terry Moran, and Rick Klein.
ABC News Digital and 538 will also provide a live blog with up-to-the-minute analysis and reporting from the field, highlighting notable races and voting trends. The “Ballot Watch” desk, led by the ABC News investigative unit, will monitor all storylines related to election integrity, with contributions from Pierre Thomas, Aaron Katersky, Dan Abrams, and Kate Shaw.
In addition to the national coverage, ABC News will have correspondents in all seven battleground states, as well as reporters in other key locations. The timing of when the winner will be announced depends on the closeness of the election and the speed at which states count their ballots, varying due to different state laws and voting practices.
