Aboul Kheir Balances Career in Design and Football
Aboul Kheir, a key player for Karleigh Osborne‘s team, had a successful debut season with Brentford Women, contributing to the team’s cup double with 20 appearances. The 21-year-old, who also works as a graphic designer at New Era Global Sports, describes hers as a busy yet rewarding week both on and off the field.
“I have a typical work week,” she shared. “I work Monday through Friday in graphic design, which keeps me busy but is enjoyable.” Besides design, her role involves player management and media work, collaborating with notable figures like Fara Williams and Rio Ferdinand, making it a football-centric week.
Her training routine includes sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, where she and her teammates focus heavily on gym work. She also engages in personal training sessions on Thursdays to complement her regular workouts.
Brentford Women have recently expanded their staff to enhance professionalism and support players in reaching their full potential. Entering her second season with Osborne, Aboul Kheir acknowledges the significant support she has received from the staff, both on and off the pitch.
“The staff has been incredible since I joined last season,” she noted. “They’ve all contributed to my development as a player.” She highlighted the efforts of three individuals in particular: Ollie Cottis, the team psychologist, who provides weekly sessions addressing her confidence and mental resilience; Kevin Palma, the coach who conducts game analysis and personalized sessions; and Louise Oldfield, the sprinting coach who worked intensively with her during pre-season to enhance her speed.
Aboul Kheir is preparing for her second appearance at the Gtech Community Stadium, scheduled for Sunday, September 29, when Brentford Women will face Clapton Community.
