Active Shooter Reported at University of Arkansas’ Mullins Library

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Police are responding to reports of an active shooter at the University of Arkansas, specifically near Mullins Library. The university sent a warning text to students just before 12:30 p.m. on Monday, alerting them to the situation.
The message, sent through the university’s RazALERT emergency notification system, advised everyone to avoid the area. It read, “RazALERT Emergency Notification: Avoid the area of Mullins Library due to an active shooter reported. Avoid. Deny. Defend.” Mullins Library is located at the heart of campus, adjacent to the Student Union.
University of Arkansas Police Department (UAPD) units can be seen outside the library. They are actively evacuating students from the vicinity while the Fayetteville Police Department assists in clearing the building. As of now, no injuries have been reported.
U.S. House Representative Steve Womack, who represents Arkansas’ 3rd district, shared his concern on social media, stating, “My team and I are closely monitoring reports of an active shooter near Mullins Library on the University of Arkansas Fayetteville campus. If you’re in the vicinity, please follow all safety alerts.” This is an ongoing situation, and local authorities are expected to provide updates as the situation develops.
