During a speech in the Lok Sabha, Akhilesh Yadav, the President of the Samajwadi Party (SP), targeted the BJP government strongly. He emphasized that people no longer trust those who make empty promises. It’s not about having a majority but running a government with cooperation.

Yadav also touched upon the issue of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during his speech. He expressed his lack of trust in EVMs, stating that even if SP were to win all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, the faith in EVMs wouldn’t be restored. He vowed to work towards removing EVMs post their victory via EVMs.

Highlighting the India Gathbandhan, Yadav noted that the recent election marked a victory for positive politics and social justice. He referred to the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (‘India’) and mentioned that the defeat of communal politics and the inception of community politics took place in this election.

Yadav also took a dig at PM Narendra Modi, stating that the government seems to be falling and the ruling BJP is not connected from the top nor has a foundation at the bottom. Rather, it’s stuck in the middle. He remarked that it feels like the government that lost an election is still in power.

After a successful showing in the UP Lok Sabha seats, Akhilesh Yadav reiterated his stance on EVMs, emphasizing that unless the demand to remove EVMs is met, the SP will continue to push for it. He expressed his firm commitment to work towards restoring trust in the electoral process.
