Aldis Hodge Road House Sequel

LOS ANGELES, CA — Aldis Hodge has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel to Road House for Amazon MGM Studios. The film will feature Hodge alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, who reprises his role as ex-UFC fighter Elwood Dalton, and also stars Dave Bautista and Leila George. Ilya Naishuller will direct the sequel from a script by Will Beall.

The original film, released in 2024, reimagined the 1989 classic and depicted Gyllenhaal’s character taking a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. The plot for the sequel remains a mystery, but fans are eager for details as production ramps up.

In addition to Hodge’s casting, significant figures from the first film’s production, including Charles Roven and Alex Gartner from Atlas Entertainment, along with Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin from Nine Stories Productions, return as producers.

Hodge is known for his role in Amazon’s hit series Cross, where he plays the iconic detective. That series, based on James Patterson’s novels, has been renewed for a second season, which is anticipated to stream next year.

The actor has also appeared in notable films such as DC’s Black Adam, One Night in Miami, and Straight Outta Compton, showcasing his versatility in both television and film.

As for George, she is currently filming Ryan Murphy’s American Love Story and recently earned a Critics Choice Award nomination for her role in Alfonso Cuarón’s Disclaimer. Road House 2 promises to be a high-energy continuation of the franchise, which now includes four films.

The sequel aims to combine the talent of its cast with the legacy of the Road House brand, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.
