Ali Vitali to Replace Jonathan Lemire as Host of MSNBC’s ‘Way Too Early’
NBC veteran Ali Vitali is set to become the new host of MSNBC’s early morning program, “Way Too Early,” starting January 6, 2025. Vitali will replace the current host, Jonathan Lemire, who is transitioning to become a co-host on “Morning Joe,” the show that follows “Way Too Early” at 6:00 a.m. ET.
Vitali, 34, has a rich history with NBC, joining the network in 2012 as an intern and later serving as a Capitol Hill correspondent. Her extensive experience includes covering significant political events such as Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, the 2018 midterm elections, and the 2020 presidential race.
During her tenure at NBC, Vitali has conducted interviews with several high-profile political figures, including former Vice President Mike Pence and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. She expressed her excitement about the new role, stating, “I’m thrilled to join the ‘Way Too Early’ team, anchoring a show that’s been helmed by some of the smartest reporters in Washington — including my friend Jonathan Lemire, who can thankfully now set his alarm the tiniest bit later in the morning.”
Vitali is a graduate of Tulane University and has been based in Washington, D.C. for several years. This change in MSNBC’s morning lineup comes at a time when the network is adjusting its programming following post-election viewership changes.
