Anthropic Secures $4 Billion Investment from Amazon, Partners with Snowflake in AI Deal
Anthropic, an AI safety and research company, has garnered significant attention in recent days with two major developments. On November 22, 2024, it was announced that Amazon will invest an additional $4 billion in Anthropic, further solidifying the company’s financial backing. This investment is part of Anthropic’s ongoing efforts to develop reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems.
In another significant move, Anthropic has entered into a multi-year partnership with Snowflake, a leading data analytics provider. This partnership, announced on November 21, 2024, will enable Snowflake’s customers to enhance their AI applications using Anthropic’s large language models on Snowflake’s cloud-based data platforms. The deal is expected to enhance Snowflake’s AI capabilities, allowing its AI agents to analyze data and generate visualizations, among other functions.
Snowflake’s shares surged more than 28% following the announcement, driven by the company’s raised annual product revenue forecast. This surge reflects growing demand for cloud-based data storage and analytics, and it highlights the positive market reception to Snowflake’s AI strategy under new CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy.
Despite these developments, Anthropic remains a private company and does not have a publicly traded stock price. However, as of November 21, 2024, the Anthropic Forge Price, which is a secondary market price, was listed at $36.01 per share.
