Antique Goods Stolen in Great Baddow Break-In
An antiques centre in Great Baddow, near Chelmsford, suffered a significant loss during a recent burglary, according to local law enforcement. Essex Police reported that items valued at ‘thousands of pounds’ were taken from the Baddow Antiques Centre in an incident that unfolded at approximately 11:00 PM BST on Wednesday night.
The police stated that several suspects allegedly forced their way into the centre by breaching a fence surrounding the premises. After gaining entry, they reportedly targeted two businesses and fled the scene in a silver pick-up truck. The force has issued an appeal for any witnesses or individuals with pertinent information to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Rob Huddleston of Essex Police commented on the situation, saying, “We understand the impact crimes like burglary have on victims. The suspects in this investigation have taken thousands of pounds of goods from innocent businesses.”
The incident, which took place in a residential area, has prompted police to ask residents to review any available doorbell or security camera footage that might aid in the investigation. A spokesperson for Essex Police emphasized the importance of public assistance in solving the case.
Video footage shared with media outlets appears to show three masked individuals entering the property, followed by the silver pick-up truck used in their escape. The authorities are actively encouraging anyone with information, dashcam recordings, or who witnessed suspicious activity during the time of the burglary to contact them, quoting incident number 1351 of Wednesday, October 9th.
