Anurag Thakur Takes a Jab at Rahul Gandhi in Parliament

Recently, in the Lok Sabha, the BJP MP Anurag Thakur didn’t hold back while responding to the Budget and took the opportunity to poke fun at Rahul Gandhi‘s speech from the previous day.

In his remarks, Thakur took aim at Rahul’s references to the Mahabharat, particularly focusing on the character of Abhimanyu and the infamous ‘Chakravyuh’ that ultimately led to his downfall. He emphasized that it wasn’t just six warriors who contributed to Abhimanyu’s demise; in fact, there were seven, including well-known figures like Jayadrath and Dronacharya, which Rahul apparently seemed to overlook.

Thakur bluntly stated, “Some people are accidental Hindus, and their understanding of the Mahabharat seems just as accidental.” His comments raised eyebrows about whether Rahul really grasped the stories he mentioned, questioning if he even read or watched the epic.

Following that, Thakur cleverly drew connections between the seven characters in the Mahabharat and seven prominent figures in the Congress party. He identified these seven entities as part of today’s ‘Chakravyuh’ in politics, which seemed to imply a reference to the Gandhi family.

According to Thakur, the first character was Congress itself, the second was India‘s first Prime Minister, termed as NG, followed by IG for the former Prime Minister, then RG1 as another ex-Prime Minister, and so forth, with each reflecting various issues he attributed to them throughout Indian history.

Thakur further elaborated on how each of these ‘Chakravyuh’ characters bore responsibility for historical mishaps in India, such as the partition and conflicts over Kashmir. He specifically pointed fingers at the Emergency declared during IG’s time, the Bofors scandal associated with RG1, and accusations of fueling animosity towards Hinduism associated with SG.

Adding to his criticism, he asserted that these seven have led the nation into various crises, including poverty and terrorism, which he claimed the current Prime Minister has begun to address.
