Apple Enhances Shazam with New Integration Features

Cupertino, California — Apple has released a significant update to Shazam, the music identification service it acquired in 2018. Version 18.9 of Shazam introduces functionality that allows songs tagged outside the app to be automatically added to the Shazam playlist in both Apple Music and Spotify.
The new version enhances the syncing experience across platforms. Users can now include songs discovered through various sources, such as Music Recognition in Control Center, Siri, and Shortcuts, into their ‘My Shazam Tracks’ playlists. This makes accessing tagged music more seamless for users of both streaming platforms.
“We’ve made syncing songs to Apple Music and Spotify better than ever!” Apple stated in their announcement. Users can reactivate the feature by toggling the ‘Sync your songs’ option in the Shazam settings, which will resync previously identified tracks. However, some users may need to reopen their Spotify app to view the updated playlist, according to user feedback.
In addition to the improved syncing features, the update emphasizes the importance of keeping Shazam history safe. Users are encouraged to enable iCloud sync within the app settings to ensure their music identification history remains accessible across devices.
The updated version of Shazam is available for download on the App Store. For more information and updates, users can follow 9to5Mac and its coverage on Apple technologies.
