Apple's Vision Pro Pre Order Experience: Smooth Sailing Or Bumpy Ride?

Apple enthusiasts eagerly anticipated the pre-order launch of the Vision Pro, Apple’s latest spatial computing headset. With a price tag of $4,000, the device promised a revolutionary user experience. As pre-orders opened, early buyers shared their experiences, reporting a surprisingly smooth and streamlined process.

The pre-order journey began promptly at 8:00 am, as Apple’s website allowed customers to reserve their Vision Pro. The first step involved facial scanning via a QR code, which accommodated more than just Apple devices, allowing users to scan the code with any Face ID-supported device.

After the facial scanning process, customers proceeded to customize their orders. Those who required glasses or contacts were given the option to purchase a Light Seal, an accessory aimed at enhancing comfort. A questionnaire helped users determine if they needed readers or prescription lenses, with the option to upload their prescriptions after purchase, saving valuable time during the buying process.

Storage options proved to be a crucial decision for many customers, with the 512GB option being popular due to the headset’s compatibility with various applications and potential use cases.

As for additional protection plans, customers had the choice to opt for AppleCare+. However, some daring buyers decided to forgo the $499 plan.

While most Apple products are commonly delivered, the value and fragility of the Vision Pro urged customers to schedule an in-person pick-up. Surprisingly, appointment availability was plentiful, boosting convenience and decreasing the likelihood of long lines.

Ultimately, the pre-order experience for the Vision Pro was notably different from previous Apple launches. The website remained stable throughout the process, indicating Apple’s dedication to server preparedness. As of now, the Vision Pro remains available for pre-order without any reported supply shortages.
